This privacy policy explains how personal data is processed in connection with the Nürburg Guide app and website. It applies to the functions and services described below.

2. Website, GitHub Pages and domain
The website is hosted through GitHub Pages. Technical access data such as IP address, time, requested file, data volume, browser, operating system and referrer may be processed for secure and reliable operation. The domain and DNS are managed through checkdomain.
3. App functions and data
Depending on the functions used, the app may process location data after permission is granted, map and POI data, weather requests, track-status reports, technical identifiers, connection data and contact details. The app can generally be used without an account.
4. External services
The app may use Google Maps, Open-Meteo, Hetzner for backend infrastructure, Google for email communication, Apple and Google app stores, and Formspree for the contact form. The respective providers may process technical data under their own privacy information.
5. Contact form
When the form is submitted, the entered name, email address, subject and message are transmitted to Formspree and forwarded to us. The data is used only to handle the request and deleted when no legal retention duty applies. More information is available in the Formspree privacy policy.
6. Retention and rights
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the relevant purpose or as required by law. Subject to legal requirements, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, objection and withdrawal of consent.
7. Supervisory authority
You may contact a data protection supervisory authority, in particular the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany.
8. Changes
This privacy policy may be updated when the app, services or legal requirements change. The current version is published on this page.
